Cambodian Tourism Minister to Attend Mekong Tourism Forum 2026 in Myanmar
AKP Phnom Penh, June 14, 2026 --
Minister of Tourism H.E. Huot Hak will lead a Cambodian delegation to participate in the Mekong Tourism Forum 2026 (MTF 2026) and related programmes from June 14 to 17 in Yangon, the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, according to the Ministry’s official announcement.
Organised by Myanmar’s Ministry of Hotels, Tourism and Culture under the theme “Tourism for People, Travel with Purpose,” the forum will bring together stakeholders to exchange views and strengthen regional cooperation in promoting sustainable tourism development across the Greater Mekong Subregion, with a focus on people-centred livelihoods.
During the forum, H.E. Huot Hak has been invited as a guest of honour to deliver special remarks at the opening ceremony.
On the sidelines of the event, the Cambodian Tourism Minister will also attend the signing ceremony of a Memorandum of Understanding on Tourism Cooperation between Cambodia and Myanmar, aimed at further strengthening bilateral ties and expanding cooperation in the tourism sector.
The visit will also include participation in the Cambodia-Myanmar Tourism Promotion Roadshow to jointly promote and market tourism, as well as establish the Cambodia-Myanmar tourism business network.
In addition, H.E. Huot Hak is scheduled to hold courtesy meetings and bilateral discussions with Myanmar leaders and relevant stakeholders to enhance cooperation and encourage greater tourist flows from Myanmar to Cambodia.
