PM Says Territory and People Are Royal Government’s Top Priority
AKP Phnom Penh, February 10, 2026 --
Prime Minister Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet has reaffirmed that the protection of national territory and the well-being of the people remain the highest priorities of the Royal Government of Cambodia.
“The territory and people have always been, and will continue to be, the main priority of the Royal Government of Cambodia – past, present, and future,” Samdech Thipadei stated during a get-together with 3,020 students who recently achieved Grade A in the baccalaureate examination and those who earned Level 3 Technical and Vocational Diplomas. The event was held at the Chroy Changvar International Convention and Exhibition Centre in Phnom Penh on Tuesday.
The Prime Minister called on fellow Cambodians to place their trust in the Royal Government. “Of course, we experience pain both physically and mentally, but we must remain strong. When we face difficulties, we must be even stronger for the sake of our nation, because no one can strengthen our country more than we ourselves,” he underlined.
Samdech Thipadei said that the Royal Government’s decisions regarding the Cambodia-Thailand border issue are carefully balanced, responsible, and firm, taken for the greater good of the nation and its people. He stressed that Cambodians must rely on their own unity and determination, as no one can help Cambodia more than Cambodians themselves.
Addressing the ongoing border issue, Samdech Thipadei reiterated that the Cambodia-Thailand border is an international boundary between two sovereign states and is protected by international law, particularly the United Nations Charter. Therefore, Cambodia maintains a firm and unwavering position in safeguarding its national sovereignty and territorial integrity, both now and in the future, through all appropriate means in accordance with international law.
He reaffirmed that Cambodia does not recognise any alteration of the boundary line resulting from the use of force, emphasising that the Kingdom will continue to resolve border disputes peacefully, based on international law and existing documents mutually agreed upon by Cambodia and Thailand, particularly through the Joint Boundary Commission (JBC) mechanism to ensure accuracy and justice.
