Cambodia’s Verify.gov.kh Wins 2026 UN Public Service Award for Transparency and Accountability
AKP Phnom Penh, June 26, 2026 -- Cambodia’s verify.gov.kh digital document verification platform has won the 2026 United Nations Public Service Award in recognition of its contribution to transparency and accountability in public service delivery.
The Ministry of Post and Telecommunications (MPTC) announced on Thursday that the platform received the prestigious award after advancing through several rounds of evaluation among more than 700 entries from 62 countries worldwide.
The award was presented during the United Nations Public Service Forum held in Tbilisi, Georgia, under the theme “Transforming Public Institutions: Advancing Innovation, Accountability, Participation and Inclusion.”
Launched by the Royal Government in 2023 under the leadership of former Prime Minister Samdech Techo Hun Sen, verify.gov.kh serves as the government’s official document verification platform. It was established to combat document fraud, improve the authentication process, reduce costs and processing time, and accelerate the digital transformation of public services.
The Ministry noted that under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet, Cambodia has continued to strengthen its digital government agenda, with MPTC actively enhancing government digital platforms and applications.
The verify.gov.kh platform has undergone continuous upgrades, incorporating artificial intelligence, biometric technologies, greater flexibility, and enhanced cybersecurity resilience in line with international best practices. These advancements have led to its recognition as the world’s fourth digital public infrastructure model, with Cambodia already sharing its experience with several other countries.
The latest achievement adds to a series of international accolades earned by the platform. In 2024, verify.gov.kh won the ASEAN Digital Award Gold Medal in Singapore, and it also received the Outstanding Digital Service Award at the 20th World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS) in Switzerland.
According to the Ministry, these accomplishments reflect the successful efforts of MPTC and the Digital Government Committee in developing innovative digital solutions that improve public service delivery while showcasing Cambodia’s growing capabilities in digital technology development on the global stage.
