Blue Green Ecotourism Launched to Protect Nature and Boost Livelihoods
AKP Phnom Penh, September 12, 2025 --
WWF-Cambodia, in partnership with the Cambodia Ecotourism Network (CEN) and private sector partners, officially launched the Blue Green Ecotourism project to protect nature and boost livelihoods, at Maloop Garden, Phnom Penh, early this week.
Funded by the International Organisation of La Francophonie (OIF), the Blue Green Ecotourism project is part of the Destination Eco-Talents Project, said WWF-Cambodia, adding that this 14-month initiative (Aug. 2025–Sept. 2026) aims to promote low-impact tourism that highlights Kratie’s natural beauty and cultural heritage, and to support the development of a national Ecotourism Network to unite the green and eco-tourism sector.
The project will support rural communities, local tourism providers, and the national ecotourism sector, providing women and youth with opportunities for sustainable livelihoods and professional skill development, it added.
By integrating conservation, culture, and tourism, the initiative seeks to deliver lasting economic and environmental benefits while positioning Kratie among Cambodia’s leading eco-destinations, underlined WWF-Cambodia.
