AKP Phnom Penh, August 31, 2026 --

His Majesty Preah Bat Samdech Preah Boromneath Norodom Sihamoni, King of Cambodia, and Her Majesty the Queen Mother Norodom Monineath Sihanouk will travel to Beijing, China, from Sept. 1, 2026, to undergo a medical examination, according to a Royal Message.

During His Majesty’s absence, Senate President Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen will serve as Acting Head of State on His Majesty’s behalf.

His Majesty regularly travels to China for routine medical checkups, generally twice a year. Such medical visits normally last about one month.

His Majesty previously spent more than three months in China for medical treatment, including surgery and close medical supervision at the Royal Residence in Beijing under the care of senior medical specialists and medical staff.
