Sustainable and Equitable Eye Health Project Inked
AKP Phnom Penh, August 28, 2025 --
The Ministry of Women's Affairs and the Fred Hollows Foundation Cambodia have reached a new agreement to implement the Sustainable and Equitable Eye Health project.
The agreement was inked here at the ministry’s office in Phnom Penh between H.E. Dr. Ing Kantha Phavi, the Minister of Women Affairs, and Mr. Bak Tokyo, the Country Manager for the Fred Hollows Foundation Cambodia, early this week.
According to the Ministry of Women’s Affairs, the agreement aimed at expanding access to quality eye care services across the country.
Mr. Bak Tokyo informed the Minister of an update on the ongoing collaboration under the SEE-IPEC (Sustainable and Equitable Eye Health Project), which has been successfully implemented in the provinces of Preah Sihanouk, Kampong Speu, Kampong Chhnang, Kampong Thom, Thbong Khmum, and Kampong Cham.
The project has trained community members in eye care practices, provided eye examinations, eye drops, and glasses, and encouraged residents to access free, high-quality surgical eye care services in a safe and equitable manner, he added.
H.E. Dr. Ing Kantha Phavi thanked the foundation and congratulated it on the accomplishments of its project, highlighting its contribution to public health promotion and gender equality.
The Minister also reaffirmed the ministry’s commitment to deepening its collaboration with the foundation.
