AKP Phnom Penh, August 26, 2025 -- Over 130,000 Cambodian migrant workers who recently returned from Thailand have been successfully placed in new jobs, according to Minister of Labour and Vocational Training, H.E. Heng Sour.

Speaking at a recent event on support mechanisms for returnees, Minister Heng Sour emphasised the Royal Government's commitment to ensuring employment for those returning home. He stated that the ministry has focused on placing workers in large-scale factories, which offer better working conditions and facilities.

"We are concentrating on big export-oriented factories because they offer better working conditions, competitive wages comparable to those in Thailand, and modern facilities," the Minister explained. "Once our workers are employed there, they will no longer feel the need to migrate back."

The Ministry of Labour and Vocational Training secures tens of thousands of new job opportunities each week, adjusting to the evolving dynamics of the labour market and the increasing demand from Cambodian workers. This effort, he noted, is a result of collaboration among various stakeholders.

The Minister added that providing these jobs was made possible through two main measures: initiatives led by the Ministry of Labour and Vocational Training and the active involvement of private companies.
