Samdech Techo Medical Team Offers Free Healthcare to Displaced Residents in Preah Vihear

The Samdech Techo Medical Team, led by H.E. Dr. Ly Sokhey, Executive Director, and representing Lok Chumteav Hun Mana, Chairwoman of the Samdech Techo Medical Team and Director-General of Bayon Radio and Television, provided free medical services on July 6 to residents sheltering at Wat Po 5000 Safety Centre in Kulen Thbong village, Kulen Thbong commune, Kulen district, Preah Vihear province.
The team also delivered essential supplies, donated by Lok Chumteav Hun Mana, to the pagoda's safety centre to support families who have been relocated due to ongoing security measures.
The initiative saw the participation of Mr. Sok San Dara, Deputy Governor of Preah Vihear, along with local authorities, armed forces personnel, Cambodian Red Cross youth, and members of the Union of Youth Federations of Cambodia (UYFC) in Kulen district, alongside a significant number of residents.
H.E. Dr. Ly Sokhey emphasised that the provision of free healthcare aligns with Samdech Techo Hun Sen’s commitment to citizen well-being, particularly for those displaced. He highlighted the medical team's dedication to supporting both the armed forces and their families, who have moved to safety zones while defending the nation's territorial integrity.
Dr. Ly Sokhey also extended his appreciation to the Preah Vihear authorities for their assistance in ensuring the mission's success.
Deputy Governor Sok San Dara expressed his gratitude to the Samdech Techo Medical Team, under the guidance of Lok Chumteav Hun Mana, for their dedication, efforts, and the medical supplies provided to treat the displaced residents. He noted the residents' positive reception of the healthcare services, which he believes will contribute to their improved well-being during their temporary stay.
During the seven-hour operation, from 7:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., the team delivered a comprehensive range of services, including: 170 gynecological consultations and treatments; 114 obstetric and ultrasound examinations; 124 dental check-ups and treatments; fluoride application for 213 individuals; distribution of 10 wheelchairs for persons with disabilities; provision of 20 large trash bins, 120 kg of cleaning soap for restrooms, and 50 toilet cleaning kits; distribution of medicine and dental hygiene kits to 2,500 people; provision of 50 sets of coconut brooms and tongs for sanitation improvement.
This mission underscores the Samdech Techo Medical Team's ongoing commitment to public health and community resilience, demonstrating solidarity with families temporarily relocated for their safety.
