AKP Phnom Penh, September 26, 2026 — Deputy Prime Minister H.E. Prak Sokhonn, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, held bilateral discussions with H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), in New York, the United States, on the afternoon of Sept. 25.

According to a news release of the Cambodian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation issued on the evening of Sept. 26, during their first meeting, H.E. Prak Sokhonn expressed his pleasure at meeting his UAE counterpart in person and underscored the importance of exploring new avenues to deepen bilateral cooperation in areas of mutual interest.

At the conclusion of the fruitful discussion, the two sides signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Political Consultations between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Cambodia and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the UAE.

The signing marked a significant milestone in strengthening diplomatic relations between Cambodia and the UAE.

H.E. Prak Sokhonn also briefed H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan on the current situation along the Cambodia-Thailand border.
