Cambodia To Resume Water Festival Celebration This Year
AKP Phnom Penh, August 28, 2014 –
This year’s Water Festival will be held as scheduled after it was canceled for three consecutive years, according to a recent announcement of the National Committee for Organizing National and International Festivals.
The festival which includes boat races and moon festival will be celebrated for three days from Nov. 5 to 7, 2014 in front of the Royal Palace in Phnom Penh, it added.
In 2011 and 2013, Cambodia called off the Water Festival because of devastating floods, and in 2012, it was cancelled again as the country was mourning for King-Father Samdech Preah Norodom Sihanouk who passed away on Oct. 15 in Beijing, China.
