AKP Phnom Penh, October 22, 2026 --
Cambodia’s domestic manufacturers have registered more than 2,600 products during the first nine months of 2026, marking a 73.33 percent increase compared with the same period last year, Prime Minister Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet said on Thursday.
Speaking at the official launch of the National Strategy for the Development of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) 2026-2030, the Prime Minister said the products had been registered with the Ministry of Industry, Science, Technology and Innovation during the January-September period this year.
On the occasion, Samdech Thipadei called on Cambodian consumers to strengthen their support for locally made products, while urging domestic producers to improve product quality, safety standards, enhance packaging, respect intellectual property rights and prepare for market expansion.
These efforts are essential to ensure the Cambodian products can compete confidently in both domestic and international markets, he stressed.
During the same nine-month period in 2025, more than 1,500 types of domestic products were registered, compared with over 2,600 types in the first nine months of 2026, representing a year-on-year increase of 73.33 percent.
The growth highlights the expanding range of products supplied by Cambodian manufacturers and the importance of strengthening domestic production capacity and competitiveness.
According to the 2022 Economic Census conducted by the National Institute of Statistics of the Ministry of Planning, Cambodia had approximately 750,000 economic establishments classified as micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs), employing around three million people, including approximately 1.8 million women.
