Japan Commits to Continue Strengthening Cooperation with Cambodia

The Government of Japan has reaffirmed its commitment to continue working closely with and strengthening cooperation with Cambodia in infrastructure connectivity and maritime cooperation.
The commitment was made by H.E. Ueno Atsushi, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to the Kingdom of Cambodia, during a farewell courtesy call on H.E. Suos Yara, Chairman of the Commission on Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation, and Information of the National Assembly and Chairman of the Cambodia-Japan Parliamentary Friendship Group, in Phnom Penh on July 9.
H.E. Suos Yara expressed his gratitude to the Government and people of Japan for providing full support to Cambodia in its peacebuilding, rehabilitation, and socio-economic development processes.
He commended the Ambassador for fulfilling his diplomatic mission with great commitment and for making significant contributions to strengthening the friendly relations and cooperation between Cambodia and Japan during his diplomatic tenure.
H.E. Ueno Atsushi also expressed hope that cooperation and exchanges between the legislative bodies of both countries will continue to grow further in the near future.
Both sides reaffirmed their joint commitment to continue strengthening the excellent friendly relations and Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between Cambodia and Japan, as well as to further deepen legislative cooperation and people-to-people exchanges for the mutual benefit of the two nations and their peoples.
