Cambodian Red Cross President and ICRC Forge Renewed Pledge
AKP Phnom Penh, July 02, 2026 —
Cambodian Red Cross (CRC) President Samdech Kittiprittpundit Bun Rany Hun Sen met with a high-level International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) delegation on Thursday to reaffirm their four-decade partnership and chart a path for deeper cooperation.
The ICRC team, led by Regional Head Mr. Jürg Montani and Cambodia Mission Head Ms. Dorsa Nazemi Salman, convened with CRC President, Samdech Kittiprittpundit Bun Rany Hun Sen, at the CRC headquarters in Phnom Penh this morning.
Both sides lauded the enduring alliance forged since the ICRC first established operations in Cambodia in 1979—a relationship tested and strengthened through years of armed conflict.
Talks centred on past ICRC support during wartime, including critical aid coordination for displaced populations. Looking forward, the leaders committed to expanding joint efforts in capacity building, emergency preparedness, and delivering lifesaving assistance to conflict-affected communities under secure operational protocols.
