Cambodian Envoy Invites Top S. Korean Jewelry Designer to Phnom Penh for Partnership Talks

Cambodia’s envoy in South Korea has invited the head of a prominent South Korean jewelry brand to visit Cambodia to explore potential business partnerships and manufacturing opportunities, official said Wednesday.
Cambodian Ambassador to South Korea H.E. Khuon Phon Ratanak met with Ms. Seo Ae-jin, the CEO and chief designer of SUKARF, at the Cambodian Embassy in Seoul on Monday to discuss expanding the brand's footprint into the Southeast Asian nation.
SUKARF is a renowned South Korean designer of gold, silver, and gemstone jewelry. The company's creations are highly regarded domestically, often selected as official state gifts for visiting foreign dignitaries and high-level international events in South Korea.
During the meeting, Ms. Seo Ae-jin expressed a strong interest in investing in Cambodia's jewelry sector. She outlined plans to identify local corporate partners and manufacturing facilities to establish technical training programmes for processing and designing Cambodian gemstones for the export market.
Seo also extended an official invitation to the Cambodian Embassy to attend an upcoming international jewelry exhibition scheduled to take place in Seoul this August.
In reply, Ambassador Ratanak welcomed the exhibition invitation and highlighted Cambodia's rich reserves of gold, diamonds, and diverse precious gemstones. He urged Seo to visit Cambodia for direct talks with local jewelry designers and manufacturers, adding that the embassy stands ready to facilitate all necessary business matchmaking and coordination.
