Cambodia, Japan Team Up to Elevate Soft Tennis Officiating Standards
AKP Phnom Penh, June 08, 2026 —
The Cambodia Soft Tennis Federation (CSTF) launched a five-day intensive national training course on Monday, combining Japanese and local expertise to sharpen the skills of the country's technical officials and umpires.
The programme, running from June 7 to 11 at the CSTF headquarters within the National Olympic Stadium in Phnom Penh, has convened 26 participants—including three women—alongside a dedicated team of seven instructors and coordinators.
Leading the technical sessions are Japanese expert Masato Ogiwara and Cambodian instructor Yi Sarin, who are delivering a blend of advanced theoretical knowledge and practical, on-field experience.
Ms. Khoun Satsanita, CSTF Deputy Secretary General and the course’s technical coordinator, noted that the initiative marks a significant step forward for the sport's domestic infrastructure.
The training received official approval from H.E. Sar Sithi, Secretary of State at the Ministry of Interior and President of the CSTF.
"This course aligns with our annual development strategy," Ms. Satsanita said. "It is fully backed by budget support from the Ministry of Education, Youth, and Sport' sports development acceleration plan, aiming to raise the caliber of our national officiating crew."
