Royal Palace Donates Photo Books on Royal Achievements to Cambodia’s Education Ministry
AKP Phnom Penh, May 14, 2026—
The Royal Palace of Cambodia has donated hundreds of photo books documenting the official activities and accomplishments of His Majesty King Norodom Sihamoni and Her Majesty Queen Mother Norodom Monineath Sihanouk to the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport, in a move to enrich the nation’s educational resources.
Deputy Prime Minister Samdech Mahamontrei Kuy Sophal, Minister of the Royal Palace, formally handed over the collection to Deputy Prime Minister H.E. Dr. Hang Chuon Naron, Minister of Education, Youth and Sport, during a ceremony at the Royal Palace on Wednesday afternoon.
The books will be distributed to libraries nationwide, including the National Institute of Education, teacher training centres, and 581 high schools — reaching a total of 605 institutions. The goal, officials said, is to offer teachers and students a vivid visual chronicle of the monarchy’s contributions to Cambodia’s development.
The donation comprises 1,210 copies of a 2025 volume on the King’s royal works, alongside 605 copies of a volume documenting the Queen Mother’s activities from 2023 to 2025.
Accepting the gift, H.E. Dr. Hang Chuon Naron expressed profound gratitude on behalf of the Ministry and students across the country. He lauded the monarchs’ unwavering support for the education sector, and extended wishes for their continued health and longevity, noting that the King and Queen Mother remain enduring symbols of peace and national unity for the Cambodian people.
