A Royal Government of Cambodia spokesperson said Wednesday that strong national unity continues to hold firm in support of the Royal Government and frontline armed forces in defending the country’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.

Speaking at a press briefing on recent developments along the Cambodia-Thailand border held at the Office of the Council of Ministers, Royal Government Spokesperson H.E. Pen Bona said patriotic sentiment among Cambodians at home and abroad remains robust, while being expressed with dignity and restraint.

He noted that public support has been marked by a high degree of patience and composure, aligning with the Royal Government’s objective of achieving a genuine and lasting resolution to the situation.

Beyond the Royal Government’s commitment to protecting territorial integrity and the population, citizens across the country and overseas have actively contributed to humanitarian efforts, particularly in assisting displaced persons. Such solidarity, he said, constitutes a vital driving force in advancing positive outcomes in safeguarding national sovereignty.

The Royal Government, he added, maintains a clear and unwavering stance in favour of peaceful resolution through proactive and mature diplomacy, underscored by sustained patience to avoid military confrontation that could escalate tensions.

Cambodia’s commitment to peace is demonstrated not only in rhetoric but through consistent actions, including facilitating visits by diplomats, international organisations, and ASEAN observers to border areas to monitor and verify conditions on the ground, as well as engage with displaced communities.

Ongoing diplomatic efforts are also being actively pursued in line with the spirit of the Dec. 27, 2025 Joint Statement and relevant international legal frameworks. Cambodia has repeatedly called on Thailand to dispatch technical teams under the Joint Boundary Commission (JBC) mechanism to conduct field demarcation work, emphasising that border lines must not be altered through the use of force.
