AKP Phnom Penh, February 26, 2026 -- The international community now has a clear understanding of Thailand’s military incursion into Cambodian territory and Cambodia’s firm commitment to resolving the border dispute peacefully, following Prime Minister Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet’s recent high-level diplomatic engagements abroad.

Government spokesperson H.E. Pen Bona said Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet’s extensive diplomatic mission in the United States and Europe successfully conveyed Cambodia’s position on the border situation, stressing respect for sovereignty, international law, and existing bilateral agreements.

During meetings with world leaders, senior officials, and international organisations, the Prime Minister highlighted Thailand’s deployment of troops, barbed wire, and containers inside Cambodian territory, which has prevented tens of thousands of displaced civilians from returning to their homes. At the same time, he reaffirmed that Cambodia seeks no confrontation and remains committed to peaceful dialogue and legal mechanisms.

Samdech Thipadei also presented Cambodia’s stance through interviews with major international media outlets, including Reuters, Fox News, and AFP, underlining that Cambodia will not violate any country’s territory but will not accept violations of its own sovereignty.

In Europe, the Prime Minister held talks with senior United Nations and European Union leaders, while Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Prak Sokhonn raised similar concerns at the High-Level Segment of the 61st Session of the Human Rights Council in Geneva, emphasising the humanitarian impact of the situation on Cambodian civilians.

According to the spokesperson, these diplomatic efforts have reinforced international awareness of Cambodia’s peaceful, law-based approach and its unwavering position against any attempt to alter borders through the use of force.
