MISTI Urges Food Producers to Strengthen "Safety & Hygiene" to Build Consumer Trust

To respond to the growth of the food industry and rising export demands, the Ministry of Industry, Science, Technology & Innovation (MISTI), through the Cambodia-Korea Food Processing TASK Centre (FTC) project, organised a training session on "Food Safety and Hygiene."
Speaking at the opening ceremony here on Feb. 4, H.E. HONG Rada, Under Secretary of State and Project Leader of the FTC, emphasised that ensuring food safety is the fundamental basis for protecting public health and building confidence among both domestic and international consumers.
Key topics covered in the training included: Food standards, safety, and product labelling; Developing Cambodian food products in compliance with safety and quality standards; Enhancing food quality and safety through pilot-plant processing technology; and Food preservatives: Functions, benefits, and health impacts.
Dr. Kim Young Chan, Korean Project Manager, also encouraged all enterprise owners to utilise the equipment and seek technical consultation at the FTC centre to transform from the knowledge into practical application.
