Cambodia Promotes Trade Remedy Implementation
AKP Phnom Penh, February 04, 2026 --
The Ministry of Commerce has promoted the implementation of trade remedies aimed at creating a level playing field, rather than permanently restricting imports, in line with World Trade Organisation (WTO) agreements.
H.E. Sok Sopheak, Secretary of State at the Ministry of Commerce, presided over a workshop on “Trade Remedy Implementation,” co-organised by the Ministry of Commerce of Cambodia and the Asian Development Bank (ADB), from Feb. 2 to 6 in Phnom Penh.
The opening ceremony was attended by Ms. Yasmin Siddiqi, ADB Country Director for Cambodia; vice chairpersons and members of the National Committee on Trade Remedies (NCTR); representatives of the NCTR Secretariat; ADB international consultants; and other relevant officials.
The workshop aims to enhance participants’ understanding of WTO agreements on trade remedies, international best practices, and the key provisions of Cambodia’s draft sub-decrees on trade remedies.
