AKP Phnom Penh, January 23, 2026 -- Cambodia’sexport of vehicle tyres was valued at nearly US$1,400 million in 2025, as growing domestic consumption of rubber latex hit a record high.

A report from the Ministry of Commerce stated that the Kingdom earned approximately US$1,380 million from tyre exports in 2025, an increase of 57.86 percent from US$874 million in 2024.

The export of vehicle tyres showed strong growth even though the industry has only recently emerged in Cambodia, said H.E. Penn Sovicheat, Secretary of State and Spokesperson for the Ministry of Commerce.

“The increase in tyre exports reflects that Cambodia's tyre industry is recognised in the world market,” he underlined. 

According to the Council for the Development of Cambodia, Cambodia currently has eight tyre manufacturing factories. Five are operational and the rest are under construction.

Rubber latex exports declined by 12 percent last year to 343,762 tonnes, generating approximately US$644 million, stated the report. However, domestic consumption of rubber latex recorded a sharp increase of 146 percent, reaching 124,321 tonnes, according to the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry, and Fisheries.

The surge in local consumption has been driven largely by the presence of tyre manufacturing factories in the country, said Mr. Lim Heng, Vice President of the Cambodia Chamber of Commerce. “Tyre factories use locally produced rubber latex as raw material for their production, thereby creating a stable market for rubber farmers and plantation owners,” he added.
