New Senate Building Is Ready for Function
AKP Phnom Penh, January 23, 2026 -- The Solidarity Palace – the newly constructed Senate building – is ready for function, after a religious ceremony was held this morning under the presidency of Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, President of the Senate, and his spouse Samdech Kittiprittpundit Bun Rany Hun Sen.
Nine Buddhist monks were invited to chant blessings for the newly constructed office building.
The Solidarity Palace will soon be officially inaugurated under the royal presidency of His Majesty Preah Bat Samdech Preah Boromneath Norodom Sihamoni, King of Cambodia, following its groundbreaking on Aug. 9, 2024.
After the religious ceremony, Samdech Techo and Samdech Kittiprittpundit visited key rooms of the Solidarity Palace, which was constructed using funds raised from charitable donors, reflecting a spirit of strong solidarity.
The four-story building measures 79 metres by 47 metres. The ground floor houses a library, a staff room, a bodyguard command room, and a server room; while the first floor features a large hall for official welcome ceremonies, a banquet hall, a press conference room, a multi-purpose room, and a waiting room.
Offices, a bilateral meeting room, a reception hall, resting rooms, and a standing committee meeting room are located on the second floor; whereas a large meeting room, a technical room, and a waiting room are situated on the third floor.
