Cambodian, Japanese Red Cross Youth Hold Forum on Peace, Climate Change & Disaster Management
AKP Phnom Penh, December 22, 2025 --
The Cambodian Red Cross (CRC) hosted an experience-sharing forum on Sunday between its youth volunteers and a delegation from the Japanese Red Cross Society’s Hiroshima Branch.
The event, presided over by CRC Second Vice Secretary-General H.E. You Lana and Japanese delegation head Mr. Takaaki Shantani, was attended by 95 officials and youth volunteers.
The Japanese delegation presented on peace, climate change, and disaster management, which formed the basis for group discussions.
Mr. Shantani thanked the CRC for its hospitality during the delegation’s five-day visit and said accomplishments from the trip would be implemented under a five-year Memorandum of Understanding between the two societies.
H.E. You Lana said the forum helped identify challenges and strengths to develop an action plan for 2026, which includes a reciprocal visit by 12 Cambodian youth to Hiroshima.
Certificates were awarded to the Japanese delegation members at the forum’s conclusion.
