Cambodian Red Cross Sends 100 Tonnes of Aid to Border Camps
AKP Phnom Penh, December 22, 2025 --
The Cambodian Red Cross (CRC) on Monday afternoon dispatched 100 tonnes of rice and thousands of cases of water and soft drinks to five provinces to support civilians displaced by rising border tensions with Thailand.
The aid, approved by CRC President Samdech Kittiprittpundit Bun Rany Hun Sen, includes 1,000 cases of purified water and 1,000 cases of soft drinks.
The supplies will be split equally among the northern and northwestern provinces of Oddar Meanchey, Preah Vihear, Siem Reap, Pursat, and Banteay Meanchey.
Thousands of residents have fled their homes to temporary safe camps in recent days as conflict persists along the frontier.
The CRC said in a statement that the distribution was made possible by private sector donations and underscored its "commitment to providing immediate relief" to those caught in the displacement crisis.
