A senior Cambodian lawmaker called for national solidarity and reaffirmed the Royal Government’s commitment to territorial integrity on Sunday afternoon while visiting families displaced by heightened security concerns along the country's border.

H.E. Ke Kim Yan, a member of National Assembly and Member of the Supreme Privy Council to His Majesty the King, led a delegation to temporary shelters in Banteay Meanchey province, where civilians have sought refuge in Buddhist pagodas. The visit follows recent hostilities that have forced local communities to flee their homes.

The delegation delivered emergency relief to families at several sites, including the Banteay Neang and Luong pagodas in Mongkul Borey district, and the Prasat Srah pagoda in Preah Netr Preah district.

H.E. Ke Kim Yan praised the coordination between humanitarian workers, private donors, and local officials, describing their efforts as "vital" to mitigating the hardships of the displaced. He also issued a directive to grassroots working groups to monitor ground conditions and ensure that no citizen is left without aid.

Addressing the evacuees, H.E. Ke Kim Yan linked local resilience to broader national security.

He urged citizens to stand "as one national family" to safeguard Cambodia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity and called for continued public trust in the leadership of the Senate President Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen and Prime Minister Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet, asserting that the Royal Government is fully committed to national defence.

Amid the crowded conditions of temporary shelters, he advised families to maintain strict hygiene standards to prevent disease outbreaks.

The mission concluded at the Preah Netr Preah District Hospital, where the delegation met with patients and frontline medical staff. H.E. Ke Kim Yan encouraged healthcare providers to maintain high standards of care and distributed morale-boosting gifts to those receiving treatment.

The Royal Government of Cambodia has not provided a timeline for when the displaced families might safely return to their homes, as security forces continue to monitor the situation along the frontier.
