Summary of Thailand’s Continued Military Aggression against Cambodia’s 4th and 5th Military Regions

The following is the summary of the situation along the Cambodia-Thailand border regarding Thailand’s continued armed aggression against Cambodia, in the 4th and 5th Military Regions, released this evening by the Ministry of National Defence:
1. The frontline situation at the 4th Military Region in Oddar Meanchey and Preah Vihear provinces: From 5:00pm on Dec. 20, 2025 to 5:00pm on Dec. 21, 2025:
On Dec. 20, 2025
- At 5:30pm, the Thai military fired heavy artillery and supporting artillery into the area of Thmar Daun.
On December 21, 2025
- At 12:05am, the Thai military fired 3 rounds of mortar into the area of Tamone Temple.
- At 6:15am, the Thai military began shelling with heavy artillery, along with tanks firing shells into the areas of Thmar Daun and Tamone Temple.
- At 6:25am, the Thai military fired heavy and supporting artillery, along with drones, into the area of Tamone Temple.
- At 9:31am, the Thai military deployed toxic gas into the area of Preah Vihear Temple.
-From 10:00am to 11:00am, the Thai military continued to deploy toxic gas in the areas of Preah Vihear Temple, Ta Thav, Phnom Khmoach, Choam Te, Phnom Trangol, and Koul 8.
-From 11:00am to 1:00pm, the Thai military continued to fire artillery shells into the areas of Preah Vihear Temple, Ta Thav, Phnom Khmoach, Choam Te, and fired into the area of Tamone Temple.
-From 1:00pm to 2:00pm, the Thai military began firing artillery, mortars, and tank shells as well as infantry forces, attacking from the distance into the area of Chan Krohom, Phnom Khmoach, and Choam Te. They also deployed bombing drones and fired artillery shells into the area of Tamone Temple.
-From 2:00pm to 3:00pm, the Thai military continued to attack by using DK guns mounted on vehicles, advancing into the area of Preah Vihear Temple.
2. The frontline situation at the 5th Military Region in Banteay Meanchey and Pursat provinces: From 12:00am to 5:00pm on Dec. 21, 2025:
- At 5:50am, the Thai military fired shells into the area of Boeung Trakoun.
- At 6:09am, the Thai military deployed reconnaissance drones, violating Cambodian airspace in the area of Prey Chan village.
- From 7:00am to 10:00am, the Thai military continued to fire shells into the area of Boeung Trakoun.
- From 7:09am to 9:27am, the Thai military fired shells into the area of Prey Chan village.
- At 11:40am, the Thai military deployed tanks to fire shells into the areas of Boeung Pring and Boeung Trakoun.
- At 1:01pm, the Thai military deployed fighter jets to drop 2 bombs in the area of Phkoam commune, Svay Chek district, Banteay Meanchey province.
- From 1:35pm to 3:06pm, the Thai military fired 13 artillery shells into the area of Nimit commune, Poipet city.
- At 1:53pm, the Thai military fired machine guns into the area of Chamkar Kor village.
- At 1:55pm, the Thai military fired mortars rounds, 12.7mm heavy machine guns, and 14.5mm armored vehicle-mounted guns in the area of Chamkar Kor.
- From 2:00pm to 2:30pm, the Thai military fired 24 shells of 155mm artillery and mortars into the area of O'Beichoan.
- At 2:02pm, the Thai military deployed drones to bombard the area of Chamkar Kor village.
- At 2:10pm, the Thai military fired 1 shell of 155mm artillery into the area of Sangkat Nimit, Poipet city.
- From 2:13pm to 3:00pm, the Thai military fired 13 artillery shells into the area of Boeung Trakoun.
- From 2:18pm to 3:07pm, the Thai military fired 14 rounds of mortars into the area of Prey Kob village, Sangkat O’Russey, Poipet city.
- From 2:30pm to 4:00pm, the Thai military fired approximately 51 shells of 155mm artillery and numerous mortars rounds into the area of O'Beichoan commune.
- At 2:30pm, the Thai military fired 6 shells of 155mm artillery into the area of Sangkat O’Russey, Poipet city.
- From 2:36pm to 2:57pm, the Thai military continued to attack in the civilian areas by firing 11 artillery shells into the area of Sangkat Poipet, Poipet city, Banteay Meanchey province.
- At 3:00pm, the Thai military continued to fire shells into the area of Prey Chan village.
- At 3:03pm, the Thai military fired 155mm artillery shells into the area of Toul Pongro, Sangkat O’Russey, Poipet city, Banteay Meanchey province.
- At 3:06pm, the Thai military fired 155mm artillery shells into the area of Sangkat Nimit, Poipet city, Banteay Meanchey province.
- At 3:25pm, the Thai military fired 2 mortar rounds into the area of Sangkat O’Russey, Poipet city.
- At 4:04pm, the Thai military fired shells into the area of Stung Bat, Sangkat Phsar Kandal, Poipet city, Banteay Meanchey province.
- At 4:25pm, the Thai military fired shells into the areas of Prey Chan village and Chouk Chey.
- At 4:40pm, the Thai military fired approximately 3 shells of 155mm artillery into the north of Stung Bat roundabout, Sangkat Phsar Kandal, Poipet city.
Our armed forces have been fighting against the aggressors and will continue to monitor the situation with utmost care and remain highly vigilant in fulfillment of their duties to defend Cambodian territorial integrity.
It is also important to stress that as of now the heroic Cambodian Army and National Police forces have and will continue to stand strong, brave and steadfast in their fight against the aggressor in all battlefronts in the fulfillment of their duties to defend Cambodian territorial integrity.
