Samdech Kitti Sangahapundit Men Sam An on Tuesday distributed humanitarian assistance to families of Cambodian soldiers deployed along the contentious border with Thailand, underscoring the Royal Government’s focus on bolstering troop morale and national solidarity.

Samdech Men Sam An, who serves as a Member of the Supreme Privy Council to His Majesty the King and President of the Cambodian Women for Peace and Development Association, personally oversaw the delivery of relief supplies and financial support in Preah Vihear province. The aid was directed to families of servicemen from Intervention Brigade No. 9, a unit stationed in a region with a history of military confrontation.

The assistance package, comprising food staples, essential household goods, and direct monetary aid, is designed to alleviate the burdens faced by military families during prolonged deployments.

In her address, Samdech Men Sam An conveyed a message of unwavering national support from the country's highest leadership. "The well-being of our armed forces and their families is a paramount concern," she stated, aligning the initiative with the priorities of Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, President of the Senate and President of the Supreme Privy Council to His Majesty the King; Samdech Kittiprittpundit Bun Rany Hun Sen, President of the Cambodian Red Cross; Prime Minister Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet; and the First Lady Lok Chumteav Dr. Pich Chanmony Hun Manet.

She honoured the sacrifices of current troops and paid tribute to those who had fallen in past conflicts, declaring their service "an indelible part of our nation's history."

Samdech Men Sam An emphasised that sustained support for military families is a critical Royal Government policy, directly linked to the morale and effectiveness of forces operating in high-risk border areas. She called on local authorities to maintain close contact with and regular assistance for these families.

Officials noted that the aid was mobilised through a coalition of donors, including Princess Norodom Arunrasmy, members of the Senate, the Cambodian Women for Peace and Development Association, and private sector partners SIPCO and Chip Mong Group.
