Over 3,000 Cyclists Join “Pedal for the Planet” Event in Phnom Penh

More than 3,000 cyclists, including Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Education, Youth and Sports, H.E. Dr. Hang Chuon Naron, participated in the “Pedal for the Planet, Cycle for Tomorrow 2025” event in Phnom Penh yesterday.
H.E. Igor Driesmans, Ambassador of the European Union to Cambodia, also joined the event.
According to the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports, this major cycling event for 2025 was organised by the Delegation of the European Union to Cambodia, in collaboration with the Ministry and the Phnom Penh Municipal Hall.
The sporting event, which brought together the public, young people, and numerous partners, aimed to encourage the reduction of plastic use and promote a clean and sustainable environment.
It also showcased the strong partnership between the European Union and Cambodia, said the Minister of Education, Youth and Sports, adding that the event helps foster greater participation among communities and young people of all generations in protecting the environment.
