Kampot Provincial Prosecutor Charges Three Foreign Nationals with Murder

The Kampot Provincial Prosecutor’s Office on Oct. 10 charged three Chinese nationals and their accomplices with murder accompanied by violence and involvement in online scams in connection with the death of a young South Korean national.
According to the spokesperson for the Kampot Provincial Prosecutor’s Office, the victim’s body was found in a black Ford F-150 Raptor in North Kampong Bay village, Sangkat Kampong Bay, Kampot provincial city, at around 2:00 a.m. on Aug. 8, 2025. Two Chinese suspects were immediately arrested.
Police investigations and a preliminary autopsy indicated that the victim, identified as 22-year-old Park Minho, died as a result of severe torture, with multiple bruises and injuries across his body.
The case also led to a raid on a villa in Bokor city, Kampot province, believed to be the crime scene, where signs of illegal online operations were discovered and another Chinese suspect was detained.
The three accused are currently being held in pre-trial detention at Kampot Provincial Prison pending further investigation in accordance with legal procedures.
In a press release issued this evening, the Ministry of Interior clarified that Cambodian authorities have not received any complaint or information from the deceased’s family or the embassy, contrary to reports by the South China Morning Post which claimed that the family had sought assistance through the embassy and local police.
The Ministry added that competent authorities have been cooperating closely with the South Korean Embassy in Cambodia to facilitate the necessary procedures and are continuing efforts to locate and apprehend the remaining suspects and their accomplices to ensure justice is served.
