DPM Hun Many Awards Computers to 79 Top Students in Kampong Speu
AKP Phnom Penh, October 01, 2025 -- Seventy-nine (79) outstanding students in Kampong Speu province who achieved Grade A in the 2024–2025 high school examination were each awarded a computer from Deputy Prime Minister Hun Many, Minister of Civil Service and Head of the Royal Government Working Group for Kampong Speu province.
The award ceremony took place this morning at the Kampong Speu Library Conference Hall, attended by H.E. Dr. Cheam Chan Sophorn, Kampong Speu Provincial Governor, along with youth representatives, local authorities, school directors, and teachers.
During the event, Deputy Prime Minister Hun Many warmly congratulated the Grade A achievers for their remarkable performance in the national examination on Aug. 28, 2025, and offered his appreciation to the teachers who led voluntary refresher courses.
He lauded the students' determination, clear goal-setting, and perseverance in overcoming obstacles, while also acknowledging the vital support from their parents and teachers.
The Deputy Prime Minister further underlined the Royal Government's high priority for education under the wise leadership of Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet, Prime Minister of Cambodia. He noted that the Prime Minister has directed the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports to strengthen educational programmes aimed at developing human resources that meet the demands of the labour market in the digital era and the skills-based economy.
H.E. Hun Many also appealed to education officials, school directors, teachers, and local authorities to continue motivating students who did not pass this year's exam. He encouraged them not to lose heart but to study harder for the next year, or to pursue vocational training through the Ministry of Labour and Vocational Training and other relevant institutions to gain professional skills and future career opportunities. He urged the sharing of this year’s achievements as a source of inspiration for future generations.
Meanwhile, H.E. Dr. Cheam Chan Sophorn reported on the province's impressive results, noting that out of 5,772 candidates, 5,038 passed the high school diploma exam, achieving a success rate of 87.28 percent. Crucially, the number of Grade A achievers reached 79 (50 females), significantly distributed across districts including Chbar Mon city (23), Samrong Torng (16), Korng Pisey (12), Oudong Me Chey city (12), Borseth (8), and Phnom Sruoch (8).
The Governor highlighted that this year's total of 79 Grade A students marked a substantial increase from the 47 recorded in 2024.
This improvement, he stressed, not only brought honour to the students and their families but also immense pride to their schools, communities, and the province as a whole.
Organisers confirmed that each of the 79 Grade A students received one computer, personally sponsored by Deputy Prime Minister Hun Many.
