AKP Phnom Penh, September 24, 2025 --   

The Regional Border Committee (RBC) meeting between Cambodia’s Military Region 5 and Thailand’s Army Region 1 has been postponed to October 2025. 

The update was shared this afternoon by H.E. Lt. Gen. Maly Socheata, Spokeswoman for the Cambodian Ministry of National Defence, explaining that this delay is due to restructuring and leadership changes within Thailand’s Army Region 1. 

Cambodia’s Military Region 5 will continue coordinating with the Thai side to promptly organise the meeting, enabling both parties to fully and effectively implement the ceasefire agreement, as well as to foster concrete cooperation to promote peace and stability between the two countries and restore normalcy along the border, the spokeswoman added.
