France welcomes the progress made during the Sept. 10 meeting of the General Border Committee (GBC) between Cambodia and Thailand and encourages the parties to continue dialogue and cooperation to respect the ceasefire.

The remarks were emphasised by the French Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs in a statement released this morning by the French Embassy in Cambodia.

"France particularly welcomes the decision of the two parties to work together to clear landmines along the border," the statement added.

The Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs also reiterated France's full support for the Malaysian Chairmanship of ASEAN in these efforts to promote regional stability.
