AKP Phnom Penh, August 10, 2025 -- One hundred vulnerable families, including elderly and displaced persons, in Sangkat Kok Chork in Siem Reap provincial city, received humanitarian aid from Singapore’s Life Saving Society this afternoon.
The assistance was distributed through Venerable Vicheth Vongsa Hem Kimsan, Chief Buddhist Monk of Kok Chork Pagoda.
Mr. Goh Tung Heng, President of the Life Saving Society of Singapore, stated that the donation aims to provide temporary relief to families facing hardship. He reaffirmed the organisation’s commitment to supporting Cambodian communities in need across additional regions.
Oknha Seang Nam, Member of the National Assembly for Siem Reap provincial constituency, expressed gratitude to the Life Saving Society for its generosity, which aligns with the Royal Government of Cambodia’s efforts to address local challenges. He emphasised that such charitable initiatives strengthen solidarity and foster deeper friendship and cooperation between Cambodia and Singapore.
Additionally, Oknha Seang Nam commended Singapore’s Channel News Asia (CNA) for its on-the-ground reporting from border provinces, which has exposed acts of aggression by Thai soldiers against Cambodian territory. He noted that such coverage raises international awareness and sheds light on the suffering of innocent civilians affected by these violations.
