AKP Phnom Penh, August 28, 2026 —

The delegation of the 2nd Inter-Parliamentary Speakers’ Conference (ISC-2) has highly commended Cambodia for successfully hosting the international parliamentary gathering, highlighting the importance of parliamentary diplomacy in promoting peace, stability and development.

The remarks were made during a meeting between Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, and the ISC-2 delegation led by H.E. Syed Yusaf Raza Gilani, President of the Senate of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan and Founding Chairman of the ISC, at the Peace Palace in Phnom Penh on the afternoon of Aug. 28.

During the meeting, H.E. Syed Yusaf Raza Gilani praised Cambodia for its successful organisation of ISC-2.

He stressed that the ISC platform was established based on the principles of peace, stability and development, as well as the promotion of respect for international law, including the Charter of the United Nations, with the aim of contributing to peace and security at the regional and global levels.

He also underlined the importance of strengthening diplomatic relations and promoting exchanges and visits among legislative institutions to support the building and maintenance of peace and stability.

In response, Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet thanked all the delegations for participating in ISC-2 in Cambodia.

The Prime Minister highlighted the key role of legislative institutions in complementing the executive branch in building relations and promoting cooperation within bilateral and multilateral frameworks.

Samdech Thipadei stressed that peace is essential to development and shared Cambodia’s experience in successfully ending the war and achieving full national peace through the “Win-Win Policy” initiated by Samdech Techo Hun Sen.

Cambodia, he said, clearly understands the value of peace and aspires to live in lasting peace with all neighbouring countries.

Before concluding the meeting, Samdech Thipadei briefed the ISC-2 delegation on the latest developments in the Cambodia-Thailand border situation.

He reaffirmed Cambodia’s commitment and position to resolve the Cambodia-Thailand border issue peacefully, based on international law and in accordance with the conventions, treaties and existing agreements between the two countries.
