Heroic Wounds Emblematic of National Honor, Says Health Minister Chheang Ra
AKP Phnom Penh, August 08, 2025 -- In a tribute to Cambodia’s frontline defenders, H.E. Professor Chheang Ra, Minister of Health, lauded the bravery and sacrifices of the nation’s soldiers, declaring that "every wound sustained by our heroic troops stands as a mark of honour—a testament to their service in safeguarding Cambodia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity."
The Minister delivered his remarks during an Aug. 7 inspection visit to the Khmer-Soviet Friendship Hospital, where he and senior ministry officials assessed the treatment and recovery of wounded soldiers. The delegation was accompanied by a team of leading physicians, surgeons, and hospital administrators dedicated to delivering exceptional medical care.
As part of the visit, H.E. Prof. Chheang Ra presided over a multidisciplinary consultative meeting, sharing insights on clinical leadership and facilitating an exchange on advanced medical practices. The discussions emphasised evidence-based approaches to diagnosis and treatment, prioritising precision, patient safety, and optimal clinical outcomes.
The Minister also commended the hospital’s medical staff for deploying specialist teams to provincial facilities near conflict zones, reinforcing healthcare access for injured troops. He highlighted these efforts as a reflection of national solidarity, professional collaboration, and Cambodia’s commitment to strengthening medical capacity—particularly for those wounded in defence of the nation.
In closing, H.E. Prof. Chheang Ra and ministry leadership extended their deepest respect to the armed forces for their unwavering courage and patriotism. Their sacrifices, he affirmed, remain an enduring source of national pride and inspiration for all Cambodians.
