Ministry of Interior Bans Drone Flying in Some Border Provinces

The Ministry of Interior has announced a 15-day ban on drone flying in some provinces located along and near the Cambodian-Thai border to maintain security, public order, and social safety.
H.E. Aphi Santepundit Sar Sokha, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, issued the ban on Aug. 3, focusing on the provinces of Oddar Meanchey, Preah Vihear, Banteay Meanchey, Battambang, Pailin, Pursat, Koh Kong, Siem Reap, and Kampong Thom.
“Amid the violation of Cambodia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity by Thailand, I order all governors of the mentioned provinces to ensure a broad dissemination of the drone flying ban for 15 days, effective from the date of its issuance,” stated H.E. Aphi Santepundit Sar Sokha.
Those found violating the ban will be brought for legal action in accordance with Cambodian law.
The Deputy Prime Minister also called upon the provincial administrations to monitor and manage the situation strictly and make daily reports for the ministry.
