Deputy Prime Minister Hun Many Honors Fallen Soldier & Police Officer in Kampong Speu

Deputy Prime Minister Hun Many, who also serves as Minister of Civil Service and Head of the Royal Government Working Group for Kampong Speu Province, today led a delegation to pay tribute to a soldier and police officer who died in the battlefield.
Accompanying Deputy Prime Minister Hun Many were H.E. Khuong Sreng, Governor of Phnom Penh, H.E. Yim Sokhom, President of Kampong Speu Provincial Council; Dr. Cheam Chan Sophorn, Governor of Kampong Speu Province; and other provincial leaders.
The solemn ceremony honored the late Major Leam Sompov Meas, a 43-year-old police officer with Border Police Battalion 793, and Captain Po Vey, a 46-year-old soldier from Intervention Battalion 8, Intervention Division 3, of the Royal Cambodian Army.
In his address, Deputy Prime Minister Hun Many offered his profound condolences to the grieving families and colleagues of the fallen. "I express my deepest sympathy to the families who have lost husbands, fathers, and loved ones, and to the armed forces who have lost dedicated comrades-in-arms," he stated.
He added, "I bow in honour of the ultimate sacrifice made by these two courageous men in defending our nation and territorial sovereignty. Their bravery and patriotism will forever remain in the hearts of the Cambodian people."
Deputy Prime Minister Hun Many concluded his remarks by offering prayers for Major Leam Sompov Meas and Captain Pov Vey, wishing for their souls to rest in eternal peace.
