The Royal Government of Cambodia will implement a special budget plan to support military and police personnel serving on the front lines, as well as the families of the fallen, wounded, or disabled soldier.

The move was made after the five-days of border clashes between Cambodia and Thailand have caused significant human and material losses, including deaths, injuries, disabilities, and the displacement of hundreds of thousands of civilians.

According to H.E. Lt. Gen. Maly Socheata, Under Secretary of State and Spokesperson for the Ministry of National Defence, for the families of fallen or permanently disabled soldiers and police officers who are no longer able to serve, the Royal Government will ensure that their immediate family members are prioritised for employment in the units previously served by the deceased or injured.

Additionally, for all military and police personnel currently stationed on the front lines, as well as the families of the fallen, the wounded, the disabled, and civilians displaced by the conflict, the Royal Government reaffirms its unwavering commitment to providing the necessary support, protection, and facilities.

To further mobilise support, Prime Minister Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet has appealed to the Association of Banks in Cambodia and the Cambodia Microfinance Association to explore all possible measures to help alleviate the financial burden faced by the armed personnel actively defending national sovereignty; the families of the fallen, wounded, and disabled; and the displaced civilians affected by the recent conflict.

As of 6:00 p.m. on July 29, 2025, the total number of displaced persons rose to 168,946 in five provinces: Oddar Meanchey, Preah Vihear, Battambang, Pursat, and Siem Reap.
