AKP Phnom Penh, June 30, 2026 —

The Ministry of the Royal Palace has announced that the health of His Majesty King, Preah Bat Samdech Preah Boromneath Norodom Sihamoni, has gradually improved following medical treatment and surgery in Beijing, and that the King and Her Majesty the Queen Mother Norodom Monineath Sihanouk are expected to return to Cambodia in the near future.

According to a press release issued on Tuesday, His Majesty has undergone more than three months of treatment, surgery, and close medical supervision at the Royal Residence in Beijing, under the care of senior leaders, professors, doctors, nurses, and medical staff at a hospital in the Chinese capital.

The Ministry stated that His Majesty’s health condition has shown steady improvement during this period.

Following the recommendation of the medical team in Beijing, His Majesty has graciously permitted doctors to continue monitoring and caring for his health at the Royal Palace in Phnom Penh after his return.

Their Majesties the King and Queen-Mother also conveyed their profound gratitude to the two Supreme Patriarchs, senior monks, national leaders, officials at all levels, and the Cambodian people for their prayers and blessings for the swift recovery and well-being of the monarchs.
