Guangxi Zhuang Investors Encouraged to Invest in Some Key Sectors

Chinese investors from Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region are encouraged to invest in Cambodia’s high-potential areas such as modern agriculture, food processing industries, automotive sector, electronics and digital technology to increase bilateral trade volume between the two countries.
The encouragement was made by H.E. Mrs. Cham Nimul, Minister of Commerce, while presiding over here on July 28 the "Cambodia-China Industrial Park (CCIP) Promotion Forum," attended by H.E. Zheng Yuandong, Deputy Secretary General of the People's Government of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, Ms. Zheng Ling, Vice Mayor of the Beihai Municipal People’s Government, relevant ministry and institution leaders, stakeholders, and many other businessmen from Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region.
The Minister encouraged the private sector of the two countries to take full advantage of Cambodia-China Free Trade Agreement, Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP), and upgraded ASEAN-China FTA.
She recommended the joint working group for the CCIP construction to meet and organise trade events regularly and frequently to increase opportunities for business partnership and investment.
In October 2023 in Beijing, the Cambodian Ministry of Commerce and Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region of China signed a Memorandum of Understanding on the CCIP Construction, under the presidency of Cambodian Prime Minister Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet, and Chinese President H.E. Xi Jinping.
H.E. Mrs. Cham Nimul also witness the signing ceremony of nine business agreements between Cambodia and China in order to encourage more investments in key sectors such as new energy, garment, recycling and export promotion of potential Cambodian products to the Chinese market, as well as tourism and culture promotion.
