ANA Conducts Environmental Training Programme for Children in Angkor Site
AKP Phnom Penh, May 30, 2025 --
The Angkor Environmental Management System Unit of the APSARA National Authority conducted an environmental awareness training programme on May 29 aimed at children in the Angkor site.
According to the authority’s news release, this initiative was carried out in collaboration with three primary schools: Daun Ov Primary School, Trapaing Svay Primary School, and Kok Kreul Primary School, all located in Angkor Thom district, Siem Reap province. A total of 383 students from grades 4 to 6 participated in this important event.
The programme was presided over by H.E. Sok Leakhena, representing H.E. Dr. Hang Peou, Director General of the APSARA National Authority. The event also saw the participation of officials and staff from the authority, Mr. Satoru Kishino from the Japan Quality Assurance Organisation (JQA), Mr. Ly Bunna, Director of the Department of Education, Youth and Sports, along with the principal of Daun Ov Primary School and various teachers.
The focus of the training was to instill a sense of environmental stewardship among the children, helping them understand the importance of caring for and protecting both the cultural and natural heritage of Angkor.
The programme aimed to foster a sense of responsibility in the children, encouraging them to actively participate in maintaining a clean environment and contributing to a healthy society that respects both cultural heritage and community well-being.
