Top Cambodian Officials in Beijing Secure Speed-Up on Key Infrastructure Projects Under "Diamond Hexagon" Framework

Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister H.E. Sun Chanthol met with top Chinese development officials in Beijing on Tuesday to accelerate major infrastructure projects aimed at boosting Cambodia's economic growth and public livelihoods.
H.E. Sun Chanthol, who serves as the First Vice Chairman of the Council for the Development of Cambodia (CDC), led a high-level delegation to hold bilateral talks with Mr. Chen Xiaodong, Chairman of the China International Development Cooperation Agency (CIDCA).
The Cambodian delegation included several high-ranking officials, notably Minister of Public Works and Transport H.E. Peng Ponea and Cambodia’s Ambassador to China, H.E. Dr. Soeung Rathchavy, alongside senior representatives from the Ministry of Economy and Finance and the CDC.
The strategic meeting focused on reviewing progress and speeding up the execution of key infrastructure initiatives previously agreed upon under various Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs).
During the talks, both sides reached critical alignments on priority projects. The Cambodian delegation urged CIDCA to expedite its internal financial approval processes to ensure construction and implementation can begin swiftly.
The talks concluded on a high note, with both sides reaffirming their commitment to deepening the Cambodia-China "Diamond Hexagon" cooperation framework – a strategic partnership designed to ensure robust, sustainable economic benefits for both nations.
