The Report Company Lauds Cambodia’s Continued Peace and Stability
AKP Phnom Penh, May 13, 2025 --
Mr. Lucius Daniels, Asia Director of The Report Company (Newsweek), has praised Cambodia for its sustained peace and stability—calling it a strong foundation for advancing socio-economic development and attracting both investors and tourists.
The remarks were made during a courtesy meeting with Prime Minister Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet at the Peace Palace this afternoon.
Mr. Daniels briefed the Premier on a new promotional report project highlighting the Royal Government of Cambodia’s (RGC) vision and key achievements. The report will focus on the Pentagonal Strategy – Phase 1, economic growth efforts, promotion of tourism during the “green season,” and strategic initiatives to transform Preah Sihanouk province into a multi-purpose economic hub, and the Sihanoukville Autonomous Port into a regional logistics centre.
Samdech Thipadei expressed appreciation for The Report Company’s work, particularly its role in increasing international visibility for Cambodia. He also acknowledged the publication of his interview in Newsweek and welcomed the company’s plans to interview leaders of various ministries and institutions for the upcoming report.
The Prime Minister reaffirmed the government’s commitment to creating an investment environment that is attractive, flexible, competitive, and realistic. He highlighted major infrastructure developments—such as the Phnom Penh-Sihanoukville Expressway, the Sihanoukville Deepwater Port, the Funan Techo Canal Project, and Techo International Airport—as key to supporting the transport and logistics sector.
Samdech Thipadei further underlined government incentives aimed at encouraging investment in supply chains, which will enhance Cambodia’s competitiveness and support both domestic and export markets.
He concluded by reiterating the RGC’s broader vision to transform and connect Cambodia’s coastal provinces into multi-purpose economic zones—integrating modern industry, manufacturing, services, tourism, and logistics to promote economic diversification and long-term national growth.
