AKP Phnom Penh, April 03, 2025 --
Cambodian Minister of Labour and Vocational Training H.E. Heng Sour met here on April 2 with Ms. Sandrine Boucher, Country Director of the French Development Agency (AFD) in Cambodia, to discuss cooperation on technical and vocational training in Cambodia.
On the occasion, H.E. Heng Sour emphasised the importance of the technical and vocational skills training programme, a key component of Cambodia’s human capital development policy under the Pentagonal Strategy of the 7th-mandate Royal Government.
The Royal Government of Cambodia has been paying attention to diversifying the industrial sector in the country by increasing its skilled workforce, the minister added.
H.E. Heng Sour spoke highly of the AFD’s ongoing cooperation in skills training in Cambodia, which will respond to future challenges related to international labour market competition and demand for skilled workers. He strongly hoped that both parties will find new collaborations to better expand the skilled workforce in Cambodia to boost the national economy.
Ms. Sandrine Boucher reaffirmed the AFD’s commitment to continue strong cooperation with the Royal Government of Cambodia to address future challenges and strengthen cooperation on skilled labour force development, contributing to the country’s goal of becoming an upper middle-income economy by 2030.
