Minister Chea Somethy Praises Care For Children for Its Partnership in Supporting Vulnerable Children in Cambodia

H.E. Chea Somethy, Minister of Social Affairs, Veterans, and Youth Rehabilitation of the Kingdom of Cambodia, expressed his gratitude and appreciation to Care For Children for its excellent partnership and contributions to the ministry in supporting vulnerable and at-risk children in Cambodia.
This collaboration has been realised through the implementation of the "Development of Family-Based Care for Children in Cambodia" project over the past three years. H.E. Minister Chea Somethy made these remarks while leading a delegation from the ministry to a meeting with Dr. Robert Glover, Founder, Executive Director, and Chairman of the Board of Care For Children, in London, the United Kingdom, on Mar. 17 afternoon.
The meeting focused on the progress of the "Development of Family-Based Care for Children in Cambodia" project, which aims to reform alternative care for children in Cambodia by integrating children out of residential care, promoting family-based care, and strengthening the capacity of social services to provide child protection services.
H.E. Minister highlighted the commitment and significant progress made in reforming alternative care for children in Cambodia. He emphasised the priority of integrating children out of residential care, enhancing family-based care, and strengthening the capacity of social service providers to deliver child protection services.
H.E. Chea Somethy also thanked Dr. Glover and the Board of Directors for their invitation and support in facilitating the delegation’s working visit to London. He expressed hope that the delegation would gain valuable insights and experiences from the visit, particularly in the areas of family-based care and the provision of child protection services by social service forces.
For his part, Dr. Robert Glover, Chairman of the Board of Care For Children, expressed his gratitude to H.E. Minister, the leadership, and relevant stakeholders for their cooperation and support in implementing the organisation’s activities over the past years. He also reaffirmed Care For Children’s commitment to expanding its operations to additional target provinces in Cambodia.
Dr. Glover thanked H.E. Minister and the delegation for their time and participation in the visit to the United Kingdom. He expressed confidence that the delegation would acquire new experiences and knowledge to further enhance their work in family-based care and child protection services in Cambodia.
