AKP Phnom Penh, February 28, 2025 --
Lok Chumteav Dr. Pich Chanmony, Chair of the Scholarship Committee for Underprivileged Students under the Samdech Techo Hun Sen and Samdech Kittiprittpundit Bun Rany Hun Sen Foundation, emphasised that these scholarships have played a significant role in the development of Cambodia’s human capital.
The remarks were made known at Koh Pich Convention and Exhibition Centre here this morning when she presided over a gathering with more than 2,000 recipients of the Samdech Techo Hun Sen and Samdech Kittiprittpundit Bun Rany Hun Sen scholarships for the 2024–2025 academic year.
During the event, Lok Chumteav Dr. Pich Chanmony, who is also the First Lady of Cambodia, conveyed warm regards from Samdech Techo Hun Sen and Samdech Kittiprittpundit Bun Rany Hun Sen to all scholarship recipients.
She highlighted that the Royal Government of the Seventh Legislature of the National Assembly, under the leadership of Prime Minister Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet, has introduced the first phase of the “Pentagonal Strategy,” focusing on job creation, social equity, efficiency, and sustainability.
At the core of this strategy is a strong emphasis on human capital development, with the ultimate vision of transforming Cambodia into a high-income nation by 2050.
The Cambodian First Lady underscored that high-quality, healthy human resources are a national asset essential for driving economic growth, enriching cultural values, and fostering innovation. These factors are key to ensuring long-term economic sustainability and resilient socio-economic development.
To support the government’s development goals, the Scholarship Committee will continue providing opportunities for students to pursue higher education both domestically and abroad. These efforts align with the government’s broader strategies aimed at achieving Cambodia’s 2050 vision.
Lok Chumteav Dr. Pich Chanmony also acknowledged the vital role of educational institutions, NGOs, associations, businesses, banks, and philanthropists in expanding scholarship opportunities. Their contributions have helped build a well-rounded, skilled, and ethical workforce to drive national development.
She expressed deep gratitude to all stakeholders for their dedication, expertise, and commitment to this noble cause, which serves the nation and its people.
