COVID-19: Cambodia Breaks Record with over 100 New Cases in a Day

Cambodia broke its record as 105 new cases of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) were detected in a single day, since the first case was reported in late January 2020.
According to the Ministry of Health’s press release issued this morning, the 105 new cases aged between 4 and 71 years old are all linked to the Feb. 20 Communality Event. They include 51 Chinese, 34 Cambodians, 11 Vietnamese, 8 Thais, and 1 Malaysian.
Sixty-four (64) of them are in Koh Thom district, Kandal province, and the rest in Phnom Penh capital and the provinces of Preah Sihanouk, Koh Kong and Prey Veng.
Cambodia’s tally of COVID-19 now increased to 1,430, of which 915 are connected to the Feb. 20 incident.
Meanwhile, the Kingdom registered 88 new cured cases. Aged from 12 to 52 years old, the new recovered patients – 64 Chinese, 13 Vietnamese, 9 Cambodians, 1 Singaporean, and 1 Korean – are community cases in Phnom Penh. They all have been allowed to be discharged after being tested negative twice consecutively.
The total recovered cases in Cambodia therefore reached 818, with a death case.
