Almost US$220 Million Collected as Tax Revenue in January
AKP Phnom Penh, February 16, 2021 --
The General Department of Taxation (GDT) collected some 879.68 billion Riel (approximately US$217.20 million) as tax revenue in the first month of this year, a decrease of 8.06 percent compared to the same period last year.
The revenue, shared by the GDT at a recapitulative meeting held here on Monday under the presidency of its Director General H.E Kong Vibol, represents 9.68 percent of the yearly plan.
H.E. Kong Vibol advised his line officials to continue to implement strictly and effectively the government’s in-depth reform policy through key measures including strengthening and management of tax reforms, enhancement of e-filling system, reinforcement of tax collection and so on.
The Royal Government has targeted to collect about US$2,243 million as tax revenue this year.
