Wastewater Treatment Plant in Southern Phnom Penh to be Built in Late April
AKP Phnom Penh, February 15, 2021 --
A wastewater treatment plant with the capacity of treating 5,000 cubic metres of wastewater per day will be constructed at the end of April 2021.
The construction project was unveiled in a meeting here this morning with relevant experts, under the chairmanship of H.E. Khuong Sreng, Phnom Penh Municipal Governor.
Located in the southern part of Phnom Penh, in Boeung Tompun Development Area, the new wastewater treatment station project is supported by the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).
For the first phase, the station will be able to evacuate wastewater from some large districts such as Chamkar Mon, January 7 and Boeung Keng Kang.
In addition, the project will help increase Phnom Penh's capacity to respond to flash floods.
