AstraZeneca’s COVID-19 Vaccine Approved for Use in Cambodia

The Kingdom of Cambodia has approved for emergency use the AstraZeneca’s COVID-19 vaccine developed by the University of Oxford.
“Taking into account of the pandemic of COVID-19, with a view to protecting life and health of Cambodian people, the Ministry of Health of the Kingdom of Cambodia has decided to grant AstraZeneca’s COVID-19 Vaccine for the Emergency Use Authorisation (EUA) in Cambodia. The EUA shall take into an effect from the date of signature,” said a statement signed on Feb. 12 by H.E. Prof. Mam Bunheng, Minister of Health and Chair of the Inter-Ministerial Committee to Combat COVID-19.
This morning, the Ministry of Health also issued an EUA for China-made Sinovac vaccine, in accordance with the protocol on the Royal Government's vaccination campaign.
On Feb. 4, China-manufactured Sinopharm vaccine got Cambodia’s EUA. The vaccine has been being administered to Cambodian people since Feb. 10.
